"My sister's admission to the emergency A and E"

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a relative),

I arrived about an hour later, having been notified that she was to be admitted, to find her comfortably lying in bed, with all the necessary equipment delivering what she needed, ie rehydration, and heart monitoring.

I was impressed by the attention she received from Nuno Cruz, Luca, the male nurses, and Alex, the young doctor. who were kindly and attentive. my thanks to them.

My only comment was the long delay before being admitted to a ward until late evening.

She was taken back to her Residential home on Monday evening, where ongoing care is being received.

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience. It is lovely to hear that the staff treated your sister so well. I will ensure your comments are passed onto them so that they are aware of your kind words. Our staff really value feedback from patients.

Unfortunately, we are not able to determine how many patients are going to access our emergency department each hour. Patients come into the department in several ways and whilst it may have appeared that not many people were waiting the doctors and nurses will see patients based on their clinical need and priority. However, if you would like to discuss your concerns further, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01708 435 454 or by email pals@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk.

Yours Sincerely

Nadeem Moghal

Medical Director
