As I live away from my family I really appreciated when I had my baby to be able to access a variety of baby/toddler’s groups and special workshops, as well as use the very well equipped Sensory Room at the Butler’s Hill & Broomhill Sure Start Children Centre in Hucknall. It was always nice to get to the centre and see the happy, friendly staff smiling as this made me feel at ease to talk to them and join in activities. The activities, groups and events that they put on are fun, age appropriate and really well organised. It is because of the Children's Centre that I have made many new friends.
When my son was 1 year old and my work could not offer me a part time position I decided to become a stay at home Mummy. I love being with my son but I was missing my own self-realisation and also I wanted for my son to have some opportunities to be without me.
I spoke to the Community Developer, Michelle, who offered me voluntary training and consequently a role as a Parent Liaison Champion, which I started in January 2016. I am enjoying meeting and talking to new people and giving them advice on what the Children’s Centre offers to them and Michelle is always there for me when I need her advice and support.
I would strongly recommend that everyone make use of the Children's Centre and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help and advice.
"Thanks everyone for their help and advice"
