Speaking from experience with my father who was at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital, I found that the senior staff were far too quick in withdrawing medication and fluids that they had decided are suitable for the LCP (Liverpool care pathway) for him. In my father’s case, I believe they got it wrong as he survived in body but I feel he was destroyed mentally. I think the LCP procedure should be discussed as they do not always tell you about it.
