"when my mother was discharged. ..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

when my mother was discharged. Did not seem to know how to deal with my mothers condition. There was no communication about her treatment. What we said was turned around.Medication was messed about with not given at the correct times for her condition. She had three falls to our knowledge while there.Buzzed for staff to take her to the toilet waited well over thirty minutes if not longer causing great distress and then saying that she was incontinent been home a week without any sign of this.

What could be improved

Communication with the family if the patient cannot communicate for themselves due to their illnesses.Staff to respond to buzzers and not to causes unnessessary distress to the elderly.

Anything else?

Visiting times to have morning and evening times to help care for patients with such things as parkinsons etc where family can help out with feeding etc to save causing any further distress.
