What I liked
I must appreciate the efforts of the staff to help and support the patient.
What could be improved
Short staffing seems to be a big issue with the hospital. I gave birth to my twins at the hospital. Overall I had a good experince but in the maternity ward where it is highly recommended to breast feed the newborns there must be appropirate number of well trained staff avalible to help and guide new moms. My own experince was very terrible regarding this issue.I was given one of my tiwn immediately few hours after I had C section. ( the other one was kept in neonatal unit as he was low birth weight). I was in terrible pain and could hardly lift myself up to lift the baby from the creb. I was a new mom and didnt know the rite techinique to breast feed. my baby used to start crying after every half an hour or 20 minutes and I had to call a nurse to lift the baby up and gve him to me.it usualy takes 10/20 minutes for them to respond you while your baby is crying beside you in all this time.then when the baby is given to you you dnt know how to feed them properly.every nurse tell you differnt techiniques and after c section I wasnt producing alot of milk. My baby was frustated and so did I with his crying and that was keeping me up day and night.
I suggest there must be a nursery build in every gyne ward to help new moms to get inot the routines of new borns.Nurses and midwives try there best to help you but they seems to be seriouly short staffed. There must also be proper number of trained staff avalible to help with breast feeding.
Anything else?
L&D must sort out the staffing problem and a nursery should be build with every gyne ward.
