We got sent to the children's A&E department from our local walk-in-centre due to my daughters acute severe dental problem. Working in the nhs myself I'm always conscious of only using A&E when strictly necessary. I can't complement all the staff enough for the care my daughter received today from the cheerful booking clerk to the nurses and doctors. We never felt like we were waiting their time and I was impressed that the department has a specialist pain/play nurse who never stopped, checking all the children in the department were happy and occupied with colouring/toys while they waited. The doctor who cared for my daughter today was truly wonderful and a credit to the department and nhs. My daughter was extremely anxious about having minor dental surgery today as she has never had more than a cold in the past and doesn't handle pain well but the doctor put her at ease and used wonderful distraction methods to get the procedure done with little pain. I want to give praise to a wonderful department and all its staff who always have a smile and are happy to help in any way, thank you
"Children's A&E excellent"
