My son in law has today been discharged from this unit having had a bone marrow transplant using a donation from his brother. As a regular visitor to the ward I want to say a big thank you to the caring, competent and dedicated staff, from the Consultant to the staff who came in twice a day to clean the room. All of these people did their very best to, well, save his life. There is still a long way to go I understand that, no guarantees. But myself I feel this is the NHS at its very very best. Well done to this unit. The only complaint is about the food, I did write about it when he first went into ward 41, we did however get around this by taking food in to him. With guidance by the staff as to what was suitable. He has now organised a sponsored walk to raise funds for bedside televisions in ward 41.
