After a complicated pregnancy where we were looked after extremely well we have been left angry and disappointed about the lack of care received during labour.
I was induced at 37 weeks because baby was small but to be left in pain for over 24 hours in a shared room with no monitoring left me scared and distressed. The lack of privacy and shortage of staff puts both mothers and babies at risk. When I was finally taken into a room they realised that baby was face presentationj and ready to be born. It had been mentioned day before that baby may be back to back but this was not followed up. Due to the distress baby had to b taken to neonatal with breathing difficulties and she was all bruised and swollen. The staff we met were lovely but they just couldn't provide the care and attention that people need. Itd scary. People will die. I feel very let down by the nhs when I needed them most. I feel blessed that my baby is now fine as this could have so easily had a very different ending.
"short staffed and dangerous"
