Just to say thanks for the excellent care given to my 89 year old father after he had a fall and cut his head. Despite having to deal with a very busy emergency environment with lots of people requiring all sorts of attention, the staff found time to respond to all his needs, including providing a commode and helping him use it despite his limited mobility. They also responded well to his anxieties relating to his dementia. On top of all this his treatment was effective and fairly swift.
In particular I would like to highlight the inspirational care and skill of one of the staff on duty on the night of Friday 16th October 2015, who responded to my father's situation and needs so well. The member of staff did everything from helping him use the commode to lifting him onto a bed and making a true connection with his patient, calming my father's anxieties and providing genuine, outstanding service. I was full of admiration for their attitude and skill. I would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to this member of staff and I know my father will have appreciated their help. Amazing individual help in spite of the hectic environment.
Overall all the other staff seemed to cope coherently and calmly with an often frantic and sometimes distressing environment. I have a very positive impression of the a&e, thank you to you all.
