"accident and emergengy minors carer abandoned"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

my friend who is a primary carer for two adult sons with high support needs entered A&E via ambulance after bleeding uncontrollably with a blood pressure over 200. She rang me from a wheelchair in minors, bleeding and with a headache. She was not prioritized as a primary carer and went unattended. Eventually I spoke to a member of staff who commented many of the 70 patients waiting would have caring responsibilities. My friend had received oxygen on the operating table earlier in the day after a blood pressure exceeding 200 with bleeding meant an operation had to be aborted . I am not surprised the hospital is in special measures . Carers need priority.
