I visited the walk-in centre at Colchester during the first week in August. I was told at reception the wait was likely to be an hour and a half. After an hour and a half I was told the average wait time was two hours. After two hours and 25 minutes my name was called and I was escorted to a consulting room.
The clinician didn't introduce herself or tell me what her role was (nurse, doctor?) I explained my symptoms and what I thought the problem was and was given a prescription without being examined in any way.
The wait is something I can accept but not being introduced properly and the fact I wasn't given any sort of examination was a genuine concern. The antibiotics I was prescribed didn't appear to have much effect either.
