"Costa Coffee"

I attended Barnet Hosp today at 2.00 pm. Early for my appointment I requested a toasted ham and cheese sandwich at Costa on Level 1. I paid and the product was unwrapped and placed in a microwave. An assistant then came from behind the counter over to the seating area, cleared off the tables of packaging and empty cardboard cups and comprressed them into two waste bins by hand. Then the member of staff removed the binliners, replaced them with new ones, returned to the shop and threw them through a rear door. I saw no gloves.

The microwave was pinging ; the same assistant was then removing my sandwich when I shouted at them that they had been handling rubbish. The member of staff just looked at me as if I was crazy.

I was so angry I forfeited my £2.85 and left.

All other aspects of my visit were fine
