I have just come out after 25 days on Dacie Ward having high dose chemo and stem cell replacement.
I cannot speak highly enough of the permanent staff there - cleaners, doctors, dieticians, nurses, HCAs, catering staff - all of whom were either very good, with some outstanding.
12 hour shifts; 7 day cover; battling to get in on tube strike days. And I can assure you I have a very critical eye and can sometimes struggle to be a "patient patient". I had some difficult days in there but their professionalism, standard of care, and humour, were a great help in keeping my spirits - and my confidence in the care I was getting - up. I can only say many heartfelt thanks to all of you - and try and maintain those high standards, despite being used by our beloved politicians on all sides - enjoying their 10 per cent pay increase - as a political football.
Mike
OK. One complaint - the location of the place with not a pub nearby!
