"Visit to Minor Injuries"

About: Dawlish Hospital

We have had two visits to the Minor injury unit this year with my children, and both times the hospital have been brilliant, on the first visit, my youngest son had a fall from a bike at nursery and had split his lip. He was very distressed and the nurse was fantastic with him. The nurse reassured him and was really kind and gentle, even went the extra mile to ring the dentist and tell them the nurse thought he should be checked as his teeth had quite a bump, and made us an appointment. On the second visit - I had a phone call from school to collect my son as he had a weeping ear. I couldn't get hold of the Dr as they had a training afternoon so took him to the Hospital Minor Injuries, We were seen promptly and he and I were treated with the utmost kindness. My son was nervous about his ears being touched as he was sore but the nurse was very kind and gave us some antibiotics to start treatment immediately. I cannot praise highly enough the reassuring, professional and kind help we have had on each occasion we have needed to visit, from the receptionist, a housekeeper who had a kind word with my son, whilst passing through, and of course the nurses. Thank you.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for providing your feedback regarding the treatment that you and your children received, on two separate occasions, when visiting Dawlish Community Hospital's Minor Injury Unit (MIU). I am very pleased to read that your experiences were so positive. Staff really appreciate hearing about when things have gone well, therefore I have forwarded your comments to the Matron of the hospital and to the head of the MIU service, for them to share with their staff. I hope your boys are doing well, and staying accident free. If you would like to contact me further regarding your feedback, please don't hesitate to do so, using the contact information below.
