After having several blood transfusions at a different hospital and being treated for anaemia, I felt I was not getting any better and was still breathless and extremely ill. One weekend my daughters found me very confused with an infection and I was admitted into Airedale Hospital in Yorkshire. I was diagnosed with GAVE (Watermelon Stomach) and remained in Airedale Hospital for almost a week. I was given Argon Beam and now I feel like a different person altogether as I had been losing blood from the Lower Bowel and now as a result of this treatment I have not had to have another Transfusion since. I would like to thank everyone who gave me excellent care, dignity at all times and their constant attention, without which I really don't think I would have been here today. Airedale Hospital in Steeton in West Yorkshire is a wonderful hospital and would highly recommend it to anyone. Although I am still in their care, and still go for regular check-ups and Endoscopys, I am now able to enjoy playing with my Great Grand Children, which was something I really wanted to do. Thanks to Airedale Hospital it has now been made possible.
