"Toe and foot amputation"

About: The Great Western Hospital

I had to have the toes on one foot removed, and half the other foot removed due to Diabetes, I was involved in every step of decision making process in this life changing surgery, the operations went well and I can report I made a full recovery, however it seems to be hit and miss as to the care you receive as to what ward you are on, from absolutely excellent couldn't do enough for you, to absolutely abismaul with no bedside manner at all. I would like to say this was a minority and not the norm, however you do need to be aware of this, but on the whole a very big thank you to all the staff, consultants and registrars who made my recovery as pain free as possible
