After several years of disc herniations accompanied with chronic sciatica, I was desperate in asking my GP for a referral to the Walton Centre. After my first consultation I knew straight away that they understood what I was going through on a daily basis and suggested that I should have a Microdiscectomy. On admission to the Caton Ward I was made to feel welcome and at ease straight away by the nursing staff and fantastic HCA's who couldn't do enough for me. I was instantly impressed by the pride and passion each had by the way they talked about their jobs and the care they had for their patients. The evening before my Microdiscectomy, the surgeon who was going to operate, explained everything to me and was instantly reassuring. I think that every hospital should use the Walton Centre as a bench mark of how patient care should be. Everyone from the friendly cleaners, food people, porters and medical staff are an absolute credit to the centre and I can't thank them all enough for giving me some part of my life back. Thank you all so much!
