At 39 + 3 weeks pregnant my partner went into labour. We were due to have our baby at Solihull hospital but due to last minute complications we were taken to good hope via ambulance. As we live in Solihull neither my partner nor I had been to good hope so had no idea what to expect. We were taken directly to the labour ward where we were met by a midwife. The midwife stayed with my partner and I throughout the labour and delivered our baby boy. They were absolutely amazing throughout the whole experience and we can not thank them enough for their professionalism, compassion and encouragement. They made the entire experience extremely calming for my partner and I and for this we will never forget them. After the birth we were looked after a number of other midwives on ward 5 and every single one were fantastic. As this was our first child we asked lots of questions that I'm sure sounded silly to the midwives but they couldn't have been more helpful. I was allowed to stay over night in a private room due to a slight complication with my sons ability to breastfeed and again the care was second to none. We arrived home approximately 36 hours after the midwife delivered our son and we have not stopped telling our family and friends about the fantastic experience we had at good hope. Please pass this on to the to all the midwives at good hope and in particular, our midwife.
"Fantastic birth experience"
