I gave birth to my son on the 30th of april after having a long period in labour. During my labour (water birth) the midwife emptied the pool and couldnt refil it as they got the themometer stuck down the plug and couldnt get it back so i nearly gave birth in an empty pool as they didnt know what they were doing. Luckily my partner managed to grab the hook they used to pop my waters and pull the themometre out as i was being told i needed to get out of the pool which seemed impossible as i was ready to push out my son and in a lot of pain. Thankfully i gave birth in water safely, however after giving birth to my son i got out of the pool with the midwifes help and put on to a bed which then they gave me the injection to pull out my placenta shortly after the midwife kept tugging at it when it clearly was not ready to be removed. I kept saying please stop its hurting this is my second baby so i know it was not suppose to hurt that much. Every time i asked them to stop they would stop for 30 seconds and then carry on tugging i had to pass my son to my partner as i feared i may drop him, the midwife managed to pull my placenta out, they did some paper work weighed him and then went home. I was asked to do a wee before i was able to leave as i sat down i lost a large clot and the head of the unit confirmed it was placenta. 4 weeks later once i had stopped bleeding however had started bleeding extremely heavily and lossing a lot of clot i decided i needed advice i called 111 in which they sent out paramedics. The paramedics took me to poole hospital in which they confirmed i still had placenta left inside. The care i was given at the royal bournemouth hospital was horrendous why on earth i was left after they had confirmed my placenta didnt come out in one peice is horrendous! Life threatening and to be honest really ruined my experience of what should have been the best day of my life! The fact my life was put in danger so the midwife could go home on time was disgusting! the experience has put me off having any more children in the future and im absaloutly gutted.
"Extremely dissapointed with care from birthing..."
