Having just returned from the BRI, l really believe that I've been treated in one of the best hospitals in the country. From my first appointment at the pre op I had everything explained to me in layman's terms so that I fully understood what would be done. The day of surgery I met the anaesthetist and my surgeon. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My surgery went fine and I woke up in recovery to caring nurses who really looked after me. I was then taken up to ward A700. This was not what I was expecting. Most of the patients are put into your own room which are immaculate and modern. The staff on this ward could not have been nicer or done any more for me. My pain relief was controlled and if I required anything I just had to ask. I've had a lot of treatment for various cancers in different hospitals but this experience was way above anything I've had before. A huge thank you and well done. The BRI is a hospital to be proud of and if your lucky enough to have my consultant as your surgeon then you are in the best hands in the country. The only down side that I could find was the parking as it is extremely difficult but we got around this by using the park and ride which cut out the stress of parking in a city centre. I have to go back in six weeks time to have tumours removed from my left lung but now I have no fears about a return visit. Thank you again to all of the wonderful staff who looked after me so well.
