I was seen in the Rheumatolgy Dept in March and was then sent a follow up appointment for July. Despite being in considerable pain which is affecting my whole life and having a blood test that was abnormally raised I have received a letter stating that due to unforeseen circumstances my appointment is now November! That means I am waiting over 8 months for a review. How can the department justify that? This means I do not have a diagnosis and I am suffering dreadful pain. The other problem is that despite a blood test taken in February was not reported on because the nurse did not take enough blood nobody let me know. I had to ask for the result only for an embarrassed doctor to have to tell me. The department is a disgrace, it does not put it's patients first. Please do not ask me to contact your patient relations dept. I made a complaint after my last appointment regarding the sister/matron who lacked people skills. I rang as requested. The person I needed to speak to was "in a meeting" and didn't bother to ring me back.
