I had my tonsillectomy yesterday, and as a 44yr old patient who was in hospital for the first time, I was unduly anxious. My first General anaesthetic too. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and consideration I received. I could not have been made to feel more at ease and on coming out of theatre the post operative care was outstanding - I could not have felt safer or more comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the attention to my levels of pain following the op and nothing was too much trouble to resolve this. Everyone from the theatre team to the recovery team were so helpful and kind. This was a routine op for the staff who looked after me but a big day for me and I was made to feel fully supported. It was also the culmination of a series of appointments at the hospital over the previous months, each one of which has happened on time and in a pleasant and relaxed manner. The day care unit is pleasant, clean and relaxed too - my only possible complaint could be the rather surly receptionist who greeted me yesterday. A little more TLC in their approach would be appropriate! . Thank you to DRH for a very positive first hospital experience.
