My father recently had surgery for bowel cancer and was cared for on E14. We are more than happy with the care and attention of the surgical team but felt the aftercare on E14 was pretty poor. He was pretty much left to his own devices on the ward and struggled to have a shower. He wasn't given any discharge advice at all and despite having had bowel surgery was sent home constipated. The patient next to him had 12 visitors every day for the whole 6 hours, preventing my father from getting any rest - is there no limit to 3 visitors per bed. This seems pretty unreasonable when trying to recover from bowel surgery at 81 years old.
