A&E was not the best experience I have had at the Conquest, and it was near the end of the afternoon when I was seen by a junior doctor (a GP in training, I believe they described themself) who checked my eyes over and made copious notes which they said they would pass to the eye department that evening. Early the following morning I received a call from the ophthalmology department asking me to attend that same day. I asked when this could be undertaken, as presumably there was a degree of urgency? The reply was that they would carry out laser surgery immediately. The eye is now in the process of post operative healing and remains pretty sore, but an initial check has indicated that all is currently looking good - literally. I am extremely grateful to the consultant and team. You cannot obtain better care than this anywhere in the world, at any price.
