My 19 year old son went in for a replacement of a pacemaker that he had since he was five. Routine they said. Firstly, his cardiologist didn't even know he was in for surgery. Then they changed anaesthetists. It was done by a top surgeon, the surgeon he had been under since he was a toddler. It took hours when it should have been an hour, and when I went to the recovery room to find him I was informed by the anaesthetist that although he had aministered anaesthetic, my son could remember and tell us everything that happened. From the cutting to the pulling every little detail. The anaesthetist appologised and even gave us a letter of apology, but what was that to a 19 year old boy. My son was never the same again. The trauma was overwhelming. Some months later he contracted a bacterial infection in his heart which I was told he had had for a while. Sadly it took my sons future. So no, I am one person that doesn't think the Jubilee is great.
