What I liked
This comment can appear to be a little long but I wish that way to express my thanks to the people in Torbay Hospital that took care of me.
I am french and spent one week on vacations in Devon with my family. I suffered an ankle injury (fracture) walking along a coastal pathway near Dartmouth.
I was driven to Dartmouth (during the Regata) where I was taken care of by an ambulance of Torbay Hospital. Staff was exceptionnaly efficient, carefull and dedicated, explaining and answering to questions.
Arrived at the Hospital, and not suffering much, I was left in a waiting room (45 minutes - reasonable) before being taken to a Doctor who examined my ankle, gave explanations and sent me to Xray where I was very efficiently received and Xrayed.
Back to the Doctor that confirmed the bad news (fracture) then to the plaster (?) with further detailled explanations and back to the Xray for final check-up.
I was "offered" clutches and went away without having to pay anything.
I am really grateful to all those in Torbay Hospital who took care of me with efficiency and dedication. I am impressed by the Uk Health system (although of course this has no statistical value): I was efficiently treated an did not have to pay anything from entering the ambulance to getting out of the Hospital.
At the Hospital back in Montpellier France it was decided not to practice any chirurgy and to let the bone consolidate.
We'll be back.
What could be improved
Hard to imagine
