Ten days ago I was referred to the ACU of Bassetlaw Hospital by the Drop-in surgery at my excellent local health centre. This fairly new unit is an excellent addition to the hospital service. I was seen within a short time, having blood tests, BP and urine tests and a Heparin injection. I returned the next day for a scan on the affected leg, a chest X-ray and prescribed anti-coagulants. The following day I received a phone call from the hospital asking me to attend for a CT scan on the abdomen and thorax. Brilliant service and lovely staff.
