As A Family of 2 poorly terminally ill parents, my parents have had good care at scunthorpe and very poor care, and find it very different from ward to ward, two wards side by side 17 and 18 - (I had one parent in18 and one parent in 17 at the same time) 18 cleanliness excellent, excellent nurse care - ward 17 a nurse wheeling her bike on to ward 17 very poor care and hygiene. It amazes me when farms have out beaks of diseases, the vehicles and workers go through strict infection control. Why oh why don't we pay security guards on all main entrances to make people walk through on disinfected mats and sanitised their hands,Nurses to have lockers uniforms left and laundered in the hospital, doctors back in white coats, Saw one doctor in the same clothes for 3 days, nursing staff going from patient to mother taking obs and never sanitising their hands or using gloves. I. Do believe we have some great nhs staff who are over stretched working 12/13 hours shifts, and as frustrated., but some simple safety hygiene which would cost very little at main entrances could help and be a small start. I'm sure this will go unread and no reply expected but it's very sad to see how dirty and uncaring we are becoming anyway had my say and made a suggestion.
