I was referred to St Marks by my local hospital after undergoing many abdominal operations which made my condition progressively worse. I had given up hope of ever recovering. I was put under the care of a consultant & team. I cannot put into words the gratitude I owe them, nor commend them highly enough. After painstaking diagnosis and investigation I underwent a protracted operation which has, (against what I was told elsewhere was impossible), restored to me a normal life. The care I received at every stage was beyond criticism. I was kept fully informed of my prognosis, options and the risks and felt consulted and involved at every stage of my treatment, including a twelve hour operation involving doctors and other members of the team. The care I had in Fredrick Salmon Ward was beyond reproach. All of the people from the Nurse Practitioners to the cleaning staff were extremely competent, friendly, diligent and flexible. I am delighted with the care and treatment I received and would recommend St Marks without reservation.
