My mum was wrongly diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at a different hospital. Royal Brompton consultant came up with a different more acceptable diagnosis which they said can be stabilised with right medication. But almost a year on they still haven't come up with medicines. Mum is still suffering. At the last follow up appt on the 5th of January, we were told mum should see a cardiologist, and the Doctor we saw was going to refer her to the same hospital. So far all very good. The staff was and always have been brilliant and very helpful. But almost six weeks on and after numerous phone calls and an email later we still haven't heard from the cardio department and get sent from pillar to post. Very annoying. Even my GP have written to them. Having said that the whole team of nurses in the lung department, where mum had stay last year was absolutely fantastic. They could not have been more helpful. When we go for follow ups, everyone is woderfully helpful and kind. But unfortunately there seems to be some breakdown of communications somewhere along the line and patient like my mum suffers. Very sad from such an acclaimed hospital.
