When I was pregnant with my twin boys everything was going smoothly until I was 26 weeks pregnant and the decided now was the time to be born. Once they were born and taken to nicu I felt I was kind of forgotten about by the nurses on the maternity ward. But everyone on the nicu ward was so nice and explained everything.
Now because they were born so early we couldn't stay on the island and the closest place that had 2 bed was Bristol. We ended up in 2 different hospitals up there as one of my boys needed surgery. Both hospital staff were so calming and just nice for them to be there for a chat.
After about 5 weeks they were moved down to Portsmouth and the staff there was amazing and supportive but because we were only there for about 3 weeks it was hard to get a bond with the staff.
For the duration of the twins time in hospital we were back on the island in st Mary's, and it was so calm and everyone was so caring not only of the babies need but of us parents as well, it seems like everyone is a little family and I am so glad that my twins were in the care of the nicu staff up at st marys
