"Katherine Ward (3rd floor - Maternity)"

About: Watford General Hospital

After having a C-section by a very professional and efficient team I was placed in Katherine Ward to recover for 2 days. The staff on this ward (although there were a few exceptions) came across as fed up with their jobs, lacking kindness and were often short in their responses and came across like they really didn't want to help. It even felt like they did things on purpose to keep you awake at night on an already very noisy ward or to discourage you from asking for help. When, on the few occasions when I did ask for help or advice, the staff made it very clear that they didn't want to be bothered helping. It was probably one of the worst experiences of my life and when you are in a very vulnerable position to be surrounded by people who lack kindness I couldn't help but wonder why they chose this profession in the first place! Horrible experience.
