I was taken in to A & E two weeks ago after a fall. I was diagnosed with a quad tendon rupture and admitted. I was operated on 2.5 days later and discharged after a total of 4 days. Felt safe and cared for by nursing staff. Food adequate in quantity and edible. Not outstanding but cheap pub meal quality. Lots of cups of tea and coffee available. Nursing staff dedicated and hardworking, pretty cheerful. Consultants aloof and uncommunicative, no eye contact with them or any of their entourage, treated as object not person. So, highly rated for care by nurses who worked hard and were clearly understaffed at times. Badly treated in human terms by clinicians, although no reason to doubt technical work was not good. WAs not checked for MRSA infection on entry or at any time there. That feels like a hole in the defences of this hospital in keeping it MRSA free
