My first appointment was on 7/10/2014 a 10.15 I saw the nurse relatively quickly and had drops put in, After over 2 hours waiting and seeing a lot of other people coming in and being see by the Dr before me I decided to ask why, the nurse said she'd look I to it and came back and told me I would be seen next. I have now been put on the waiting list for laser treatment as I have the start of Macular Degeneration in my right eye on which I have also, has a cataract operation. Since then I have been attempting to find out how long the waiting list is for this treatment but this seems to be an impossible task. I have been given the number 01702435555 ext 6977 and told that they are the only people who can help with this but no one ever answers this number. Can someone please tell me how long I will have to wait for this laser treatment and why it cannot be done at my local Brentwood Community Hospital as I was told by local optician.
