I showed up early. The admin and reception staff seemed polite. I was then called over by a nurse with no explanation of what they wanted or what their name was. Didn't even look at me. Dumped drops in my eyes with no explanation of what they were or why. Then told to go, dismissed by turning their back on me. Did not once actually look at me when I was being addressed. Then called in by a person who was not the Opthalmologist listed on my appointment letter. Did not introduce themself. Did not speak fluent English. Did not even turn off the light for a visual examination of my eyes which my optician's specialist had already done. Listened to my explanation of my symptoms then proceeded to ignore everything I said. Spoke at length in jumbled English that appeared to be a recited speech of which I could not entirely understand as it was not coherent, and then gave me a green slip without explaining what it was. Apparently if you are not in immediate danger then you are not worthy of any kind of attention. I have never felt more invisible in my entire life. I did try to re-explain my symptoms to which I just received a shrug and a blank look. I have to say my expectations were low to begin with but I did expect a full examination at the very least, after waiting around 2 months for an appointment.
