I was referred to a ENT Consultant by my GP and the process was very ineffective and overly managerial disorganised - I call it dysfunctional. Was suppoed to have been given a choice of Consultant so I researched their profiles against my symptoms and chose one. That decision was overturned which led to a further delay of 1 month until appointment. The female Consultant I then saw said she could not answer my questions, as she was not specialised on that (functional isues and lump on salive gland and thyroid). In an interim private consultation which I had chosen to cut waiting time, she could not get rid of me quick enough and said she would operate. With which I did not agree, certainly not without detailed discussion of what the problem might be and what else might be tried. The only good outcome was that blood tests showed there was no serious issue - but she had not even been the one asking for those! The only redemptive factor - when I complained about the charge for a full private consultation when it only had been a few minutes -she did not insisit on payment. Back to homeopathy for me. Unbelievable how disorganised and how much self-advocacy against professionals is requred! And I know it is not just me.
"horrid referral"
