"Excellent nursing care but..."

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

Overall really excellent nursing care on this ward when I had to have a short stay here after surgery, however I was pretty shocked by one incident when the fitted catheter fell onto the floor (not sterile) and was then fitted back to me from being on the floor. This didn't seem sterile or common sense as the floor wasn't clean. I've had discomfort with this area since not sure if two are related. The rest of my experience on this ward was good.

I am pleased to note your positive comments regarding the level of nursing care you received on one of our wards, but I am concerned with what you have to say regarding your catheter. I am sorry that you are experiencing some discomfort.

We would very much value the opprotunity to investigte your concerns and provide you with a more detailed response. If you would like to take up this opportunity please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Services Team on 0114 2712400 or at PST@sth.nhs.uk who can speak to you in confidence and assist you further.
