i went into day case 2 for gallbladder surgery on the 11th October and apart from a few clerical hiccups I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of the three nursing staff that were on duty that day. We had a small wait whilst the operating lists were sorted during which time the surgeon and anaethesetist came around to reassure everyone of what was going to happen . From changing into my hospital gown to being walked into theatre my dignity was preserved throughout. Although we were all returning to the ward at different times we were all asked if we needed pain relief and a drink nothing was too much trouble . As soon as I had performed all that was required post surgery i e eating drinking going to the toilet I was allowed to go home . I would rate my experience overall as very good and I would like to say a personal thank you to everyone concerned in my treatment whilst in day case 2 . Gaynor Koppe
