It seem's to me that generally people are very quick to criticise our local Bournemouth Hospital & National Health Service, one would suppose based on personal experience. I personally have nothing but the upmost praise, for the system, speed of action & results, based on the following: My story starts with a visit to the Grove doctors surgery in Christchurch on Friday 29th May 2014 & being referred to Bournemouth Hospital for a X-ray on left hip. On the 22nd July 2014 I attended Mr Goodwin's outpatients department & was told, that I needed a full left hip replacement. Next was the pre admission clinic Thursday 21st August 2014, before we went on holiday I was offered an accepted an admission date of the 3rd Oct 2014. I arrived at the Derwent Wing at at 6-45am Friday 3rd October 2014 escorted to my room, showered, robed up, met the anaesthetist & surgeon, walked to operating theatre with nursing staff, was anaesthetised operated on & had new hip fitted, woke up in recovery room "chatting" to staff by ten o'clock. Then taken back to my room for three nights. During my stay I never wanted for anything, every request was carried out, my surgeon & anaesthetist where brilliant, nursing care was excellent, physiotherapy was top drawer, thank you so very much everybody! All my appointments before, during & after the operation where conducted at the correct time. From start to finish just "eighteen weeks", which I think is fantastic! As I said earlier but say again, my opinion of Bournemouth Hospital NHS is that they carry out everything very professionally, to a very high standard & thank you for improving my quality of life, Best regards Chris Cook.
