I visited the outpatients department for the first time a couple of weeks back where i visited a trainee doctor in regards to my mental health. We touched on some very sensitive issues but i felt safe and confident. The atmosphere was completely relaxed and i felt as if i was talking to a friend. I was told to come back in a couple of weeks for a review. I did and was now seeing a psychiatrist who i was unaware of. Thankfully the original Gp was in the room so that helped my anxiety, but i was unaware of the change of appointment untill my name was called. The psychologist himself was rude, annoying and made me feel like i was nothing. I was being asked constant ridiculous question and felt terrible by the time i had left. I felt broken completely and that i had taken about 20 steps in the wrong direction. Then was told i now need to see a psychologist, and a follow up with this same psychiatrist in 2 weeks. I really want to get back on track with my life so accepted the help. Later that day after feeling dreadful for the remainder of the evening, police turned up at my home to check if i was ok. Luckily my flatmates were out but i had no warning at all. This could of been an embarrassing moment for me. Then 24 hours later the same thing happened again. I'm really trying to get my life back on track and truly appreciate everything the NHS is offering to me. Unfortunately due to this one psychologist i have spent the weekend feeling dreadful and worthless. So i will be cancelling all my appointments with the CMHT team and may as well tackle this on my own. Feel disgusted.
