"Breast care unit"

About: Glenfield Hospital

Having had breast cancer I have visited this hospital many times, I have most of the time been treated with good care and respect. However my one small complaint is the lady who is on the reception desk in the breast care unit, I feel she would benefit from being a little more sympathetic and perhaps treating the many women who walk through that door with some empathy and consideration. I have found on my last two visits she is very unapproachable, rude in her mannerisms and inconsiderate. Her approach and questioning and attitude when speaking is quite rude even though she doesn't say a lot. Having gone through an awful time with breast cancer wouldn't it be nice to have a little more understanding and a smile rather than abruptness?

Dear Lola Thank you for your comments and for awarding us five stars. We really appreciate it. We are sorry to learn of your concerns about a member of staff. We have passed this feedback on to the manager of the service with view to improving this aspect of our service. We aim to be polite, honest and friendly and so to learn that this doesn’t reflect your experience is really disappointing. If you would like to follow-up your comments please email communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. We would be happy to hear from you. Kind regards, Communications Team Leicester’s Hospitals
