I was in as a day surgery case. Reported at 11 but finally had my operation at 5pm I was very anxious by the time I went to theatre because nerves had grown, so many others were sent home as no beds and I was last on the list. On the good side I had excellent care from all the staff, from the trainee nurse to the consultant. Very professional. I would recommend taking some food in for after an operation. I had not eaten for 18 hours and was light headed after initial recovery. After my operation they had nothing left to give me so a kind nurse made me bread and jam, so at least I had some energy the face the car ride home. I was given one cup of tea but no water jug or glass was in my room, so left feeling very thirsty. Also, I do not like the airport terminal style of the hospital. Very off putting and impersonal. But liked having my own room. If I was in any longer a TV would be a good idea. The hospital does have free wifi so you could watch TV on your computer. But I am sure many people do not do this due to being old or too ill. The wifi for me did not work on my phone though. The car parking is a nightmare and a long walk to get to car was not good. No provision for easy pick up.
"Very well looked after but left with concerns"
