"Very, very impressed !"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

I accompanied my wife to the minor injuries department following a fall which broke her arm at the wrist fracturing both the ulnar and radius. I was encouraged to stay by her throughout all subsequent consultations and treatments and this consideration helped in keeping the stress and shock to a minimum. We never needed to ask what to expect or be, in any way, anxious about the outcome. The staff, without exception were kind, friendly and most considerate. Nothing was too much trouble and when, on the follow-up visit to undergo an operation to implant a plate to support the broken bones. we were given a private room for the day. The Consultants, nursing and ancillary back-up staff were all helpful and informative. We were told what would happen, how it would be carried out and, following the operation, were looked in on every fifteen minutes to see if everything was ok. Our third and final visit was even more impressive. This was the first time we had experienced the bar-code registration system. Fabulous! One really felt that we had control and that we were 'in the system' Although we had arrived some forty minutes before our booked appointment we were sped through the streamlined processes seamlessly until, within minutes of arrival, had had my wife wrist examined by the surgeon who had operated, ex-rayed, re-examined and pronounced aok and, after be shown how to exercise the wrist, were invited to see the ex-ray then given the All Clear to go home with an assurance to contact the hospital should we have any concerns. "Thank you", Pembury hospital & the nhs !

Thank you for providing us with your positive feedback. It was very good to hear about your positive experience, whilst attending our A&E and Fracture Clinic departments recently. We have forwarded on your kind compliments to the Matrons for both A&E and Fracture Clinic, who will relay these on to the staff involved in your care. We know that the staff will appreciate receiving such lovely feedback and thank you for taking the time to do this. With kind regards. The PALS Team
