Disgusted with treatment from nurses on Bexley ward over the weekend Friday 15th august - Monday 18th august 2014. Unhelpful, uncaring, miserable, sums up the staff. Only ever saw a change in personality when accompanying the doctor to the room!!, A couldn't care less attitude. Amongst other incidents, a Nurse was asked by the Registrar to ensure anti-bac handgel was placed in my room. This never materialised. I would have thought this was paramount in keeping the risk of infection under control. Not once during my stay, was I asked by any of the ward nurses on duty, if I was ok or needed any assistance following my surgery. There was the only one who greeted me with a smile and a kind word. I know for sure there were other ladies on Bexley Ward who we're complaining for the same reasons. My consultant was excellent but unfortunately she is let down by the staff who are supposed to be committed to caring when very much needed. And by the way, the ward room doors are not sound proof.... you can hear the nurses complaining about how hard done to they all are. Just what you need when recuperating! Bedside manners are an essential skill are they not in the nursing profession? This certainly needs some investigation Gaynor Doherty
