I Recently was admitted for a minor operation which was only a day case in the Gynaecology unit , the care was excellent and ran smoothly .Unfortunately I was admitted again after it was discovered I had cancer. I was so worried and scared after hearing the news but with the help of all the wonderful staff in the Gynaecology department they helped my husband and myself through the whole situation with total dignity and compassion. every single aspect of the whole journey was faultless , both consultants fully explained what was happening and after the initial diagnosis we rang up to ask questions and on every occasion we received a follow up call from the consultant nothing was too much trouble . The nursing staff on the ward were fantastic and worked so hard and sometimes I witnessed a lack of gratefulness from some patients. theses nurses are Angels and the student nurses are the future of the NHS and I thought they should be proud of their achievements. I have a marvellous Macmillan nurse who I really cant find words to thank the nurse enough. The nurse supported me when I had a difficult decision to make, but is also supportive on practical issues after my operation. The ward was so clean and the food was good , but I have to say I really enjoyed the toast that was always available! I wish I could remember all the nurses names but from what I saw the whole ward operated as a team and it worked well. I can only say a massive thank you to everybody on the Gynaecology unit, I will never forget how wonderful you all are
