"Exceptional service"

About: Tameside General Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Tameside Hospital for the treatment and support I received whilst attending A&E, Woman’s Health Ward and the Scanning Dept.

In Nov 2013 I attended the A&E Dept. with severe abdominal pains, after the Triage nurse assessed the problem I was admitted for a period of two days and follow up outpatient assessment was quickly arranged.

In July I had similar problems and attended my GP who sent directly to A&E, I again was seen quickly, diagnosed and received the appropriate treatment, I attended the hospital recently for a scan, assessment and meeting with the doctor.

Throughout I received exceptional treatment and support from all the Nurses, Doctors and staff that looked after me; once again I would like to thank everyone at the hospital.

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time and the trouble to tell us of your experiences in the Emergency Department and the Women’s Health Unit of Tameside Hospital.

We know our staff try very hard to deliver the kind of care you describe as ‘standard’ and for them to hear that they have succeeded is very important to them. It is a great morale boost and reminds them that just how much difference they can and do make.

We will make sure staff read your comments and we will also thank them for their efforts on your behalf.

We hope that you are making an excellent recovery, and once again, thank you for feeding back to us your experience of the service here at Tameside.

Thank you again

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing
