About: Alder Hey Hospital

My daughter was rushed into alder hey to have her TOF fixed we arrived at the ward known as k2 on the wednesday at 9 am as we arranged they didnt have a bed so they placed us in a office (not ideal but cant be helped) we met our surgeons the doctors the nurses the lot at 7 pm the ward manager said she had arranged for us to go to a hotel. arrived back on thursday morning to k2 we were showed to our bed at 7 am doctors arrived to tell us it was time to take my daughter to surgery they let us carry her to the surgery suite give her a kiss and a hug and we left her in the care of a group of doctors 6 hours later m daughter came out of surgery to the ICU her care in ICU can only be described as amazing nurses tell you exactly what is going on keeping you informed of every good every bad thing that is happening after 5 days in ICU my daughter moved back to the after care bit of k2 her care in there was acceptable they do as much as they can but you have to understand that there are lots of babys in there and not a lot of nurses all in all my 6 month old daughters care at alder hey was very good we couldnt of got through it without the help of the doctors nurses surgeons and cardiac team i will be forever grateful to the staff at alder hey they saved my daughters life and helped us though it along the way i hope this helps people to understand a little bit
