I attended the hospital for a knee problem and was treated wonderfully throughout the process. I was offered physiotherapy beforehand as I wanted to avoid surgery if possible and the physiotherapist was excellent. The problem needed surgery in the end and I was offered an operation at The Alexandra but was reluctant to leave Stepping Hill. When I was told that my surgeon would remain the same, I agreed. The surgeon was superb- the surgeon did a brilliant job and gave me so much time when I went to the post-operative appointment. There was no sense of rush, they really listened and went through the x-rays with me. The surgeon was interested in the after-care as much as the surgery and offered excellent advice about keeping the knee healthy for the future. Later, I rang his secretary about questions I forgot to ask during the appointment and nothing was too much trouble- I was rung back with the answers. Can't fault the hospital and am very impressed with the staff- especially the consultant surgeon who has given me back mobility in my knee after a year of limping and the belief that I would never be able to bend it again! I am genuinely thrilled by this result and feel bolstered by the way I was treated and by the skill of the hospital staff.
