I went to day assessment unit today. With my partner I was in agony with cramps and pain in my belly button. The doctor I saw didn't believe I was in pain. Basically called me a liar. He touched my stomach to examine me which hurt. Then told my partner I wouldn't let him examine me ( my partner was right next to me and saw everything) it was just the fact it was so sore I cant take tablets as they make me sick. This seemed to inconvenience him and the other midwife. I did go for a scan which the doctor seemed reluctant to order. The scan and bloods are all clear. I was asked 3 times by the same doctor if things were OK at When I replied yes this is when he indicated to my partner that I am lying about being in pain. When I went to get the results back I we still in pain but my partner was made to wait outside the ward. Where again I got asked if things were OK at home and why wont I take tablets. I had already explained that they make me sick and codine knocks me out and with 2 children to look after I cant be knocked out.I have to have scans every 2 weeks because of my baby's growth and have lost faith in this hospital. But I cant go to the John radcliff whenever I need a scan or to give birth. So I feel a bit stuck and have lost faith in this hospital. I was admitted on Friday for the same problem but the doctor who saw me told me to come back if the pain gets worse and today it got worse so I done what the 1st doctor told me but now wish I hadn't bothard. I have had my other children at the Horton and got treated brilliantly. Just a shame today I was degraded and made to felt like I had inconvenienced them.
"disgusted with the way I was treated."
