Disgusting attitude from Member of staff working in the Early Pregnancy unit on the Tuesday 10th June 2014 (around 3-4 pm) . We were in the Children's ward for a couple of days. On Tuesday afternoon, I made my way over to the Early Pregnancy Dept . I remembered what my midwife told me. She said if there is a significant change in a breastfed newborns 'pooping cycle', there is a possibility the mother could be pregnant again. I asked the member of staff on the Early Pregnancy dept desk and she told me to go round the corner to EPAU to talk to someone there about my concern. I went in to this room where i could see other people were waiting. To the left as you walk in there was a member of staff at a little table. She looked over at me with a sour look on her face and rudely asked me what i wanted. I told her my concern (low key) and if there is a possibility i could do a pregnancy test. She embarrassed me in front of everyone with her response (she said it loudly and in a very rude manner ) "We don't do tests here!" She then turned back to her notes while i asked her what i should do. She kept her head down and just repeated what she said as if i was a hindrance. I thought she was very unprofessional. She could have just said that "we do not do tests here" in a nice friendly manner. She made me feel as though i was asking such a stupid question. I actually looked back at the sign on the door to make sure i wasn't stupidly in the wrong place (e.g. A coffee shop asking for a pregnancy test instead of an espresso). This woman needs to seriously work on her manners. There was a reason i was there, she did not need to be so brash. As a very concerned new mother i was trying to rule something out.
